Preparation

  1. Pour espresso into a glass.
  2. Add water and sugar (to taste).
  3. Whip the cream and add to the glass.

The name "Einspanner" originally comes from the language of horse-drawn carriages and refers to a carriage pulled by a single horse. The term was later transferred to the coffee beverage because it consists only of an espresso and milk. In some regions, a touch of whipped cream is also added to the milk foam of the Einspänner. The Einspanner is a popular coffee specialty in Austria and other German-speaking countries.
