Licor 43 Horchata is more than just an exciting new product from Licor 43. We took the traditional horchata recipe from southern Spain and created a unique flavor innovation: Licor 43 Horchata combines notes of oriental spices with the gentle sweetness of the Mediterranean flavors of Licor 43 Original.

Horchata is a cool refreshing drink made from tiger nuts, mixed with sugar and sometimes enhanced with cinnamon and lemon.

But horchata is not a novelty. The tiger nut originates from ancient Egypt and is one of the first domesticated crops. It was already found in the tombs of the Egyptian pharaohs. The Moors brought the plant to southern Spain, where they found perfect conditions for growing the tiger nut.
